She is currently seeking Yoga and Meditation Certification. Kirsten's massages are unique in that they pull from the various practices she's studied, and incorporates her entire body of knowledge to deliver a truly wonderful experience.
Massage - Massage falls into two general categories, Swedish (commonly known as relaxation massage) or Deep Tissue (often called sports massage.)
Swedish Massage uses effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, and deep compression techniques. A gentler, superficial, non-invasive massage, this is typically done for relaxation and release of chronic tension.
Deep Tissue Massage is more invasive, using a greater amount of pressure to access the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The therapist uses more elbows and forearms to provide slow, deep strokes.
Reiki - This form of energy work comes from Japan. "Rei" means universal, and "ki" means life force energy. The therapist channels this life force energy to help promote the body's natural healing ability, relaxation, and stress relief. This is a wonderful option for clients that don't want to undress or can't receive a traditional massage.
Reflexology - This style of work come from Traditional Chinese Medicine and uses finger and thumb pressure to stimulate reflex points on the feet and hands. The entire body (structures and internal organs) are mapped out on the feet and hands, so the client is receiving full body benefits. This is a great option for clients that either don't like or can't receive a full body massage. It is also a great addition to follow any massage service.
Lypossage - This is a series of non-invasive treatments that focus on body contouring and diminishing the appearance of cellulite. It also improves elasticity and skin tone around the face, neck, and upper arms. This treatment is born out of massage and is often combined with lymphatic massage techniques.
